I noticed when scanning over the Huffington Post last night that the incumbent Democrats are still jumping off the sinking Obama ship in droves. Democrat Senator Joe Donnelly is even airing campaign spots claiming to now be independent of the Pelosi-Obama team and the whole lot of “those Democrats”. He ran an ad a couple weeks ago claiming to be “not one of them – but one of you”. Just Google Joe Donnelly and take a look at a few of them. It is interesting just how many Democrats have either decided to retire or are now running for reelection as independents or even worse, Democrat party fighters. It is getting pretty bad when the mucky-mucks from your own party start running campaign ads denouncing you
I can hardly wait to see what happens in November. Do any of our readers think any of this will affect Hill County local races? I would be willing to wager that those illegal 4 foot by 8 foot “Vote for Obama for Change” campaign sign the city ordinance boys let slide by last election will be hidden away this time. Matter of fact, I can’t find one soul that admits to even voting for Obama.
Anyway, take a look at one of Senator Donnelly’s advertisements below and the link to the Huffington Post article is here.
I know .....................You don't even need to say it..............ITS ALL BUSHES FAULT!
I don't see the big news here.
ReplyDeleteJust as many R's distanced themselves from President Bush at the end of his terms, many D's are doing the same in regards to Obama.
The real question, perhaps, is are they doing so because of a true disagreement or is it simply a sign of attempted political survival?
It is, however, another shining example of why we the voters should be looking at how the various pol's are voting and ignoring what they are saying. IMO
It is harder in Havre because of the ingrained process. Some will vote for common sense and rational ideas.
ReplyDeleteI admit I voted for Obama, although,Hillary was my first vote. I wish Hillary would have won. But its funny how all the republicans are still listening to Palins rhetoric. If you guys think Palin is smart this country's in trouble.Obama is arrogant but he came into this with a full plate left to him, unfortunately he wants to stack it fuller. As far as always saying it's Bushes fault I don't blame him, I blame the idiots who voted him in for a second term.
ReplyDeleteOh sorry fed up...that would be me. I voted for Bush's second term...what can I say it was my first time voting in a Presidential election and I was living in Havre at the time, so clearly I was being brainwashed!! LOL...but I am PROUD to say that I tried to rectify my mistake by being one of the many millions more who voted Obama into office. Is he perfect, no. But I have NO DOUBT he is 100 times better that McCain and his go get em sidekick Palin would of been. Would our combat mission in Iraq be over now...uh, no I think not. That alone was worth it. Obama campaigned on ending that war and focusing on Afghanistan which is what he has done. He campaigned on healthcare reform and he succeeded. These are the things he was elected to do. Fixing the mess we were in in november of 08 is going to take a while...did you expect Obama to fix everything overnight??
ReplyDeletei'm not convinced that the voting public has learned their lesson: see arizona and recent mccain victory. it is fun to see the democrats imploding tho. always fun to watch that.
ReplyDeleteand don't get too cocky there anti-war crowd. time will tell in iraq... my brother is set to leave for iraq in 2 weeks for a year long tour there. we'll see if that war is "over" soon enough.
Wasn't this blog about Havre-related issues, not National Republican Love-Fest?
ReplyDeleteWasn't this blog about Havre-related issues,
ReplyDeleteThere isn't that much going on here...
sinkthis - Best wishes to your brother and your family.
ReplyDeleteWe are in debt to your brother for going into harms way for the rest of us. I pray for his safety and the safety of all the solders.
ReplyDeleteI think many Americans are looking for a more moderate side of party politics. Many of the far right's agenda and the far left's agenda is offensive to many Americans and don't reflect the views of most. I thought the tea parties agenda was out there for awhile and now I see why this movement has been gaining popularity. I really think we will see more candidates choose to be independent because they don't want to be painted into a box. I appreciate you brother's service to our country, our family also went through this for a year, and the communication has come along way since my brother-in-law was in Vietnam, we were lucky to hear from him by phone a couple of times a year. It's pretty great to have the phone ring and your loved one can let you kinow they are OK. The post office ships those flat rate boxes to Iraq at a discount for military, so you can send care packages really easily, and they really love to get stuff from home to read and eat. My prayers are out for your brother and family. I agree we are a long ways away from a resolved situation over there.
