He was making a point about the number of military personnel stationed there, stating there we so many that the island might tip over.
I would think the conservatives might share this same notion, as maybe it is time we consider how many tax dollars are being spent to rule the US empire and militarize the world.
Maybe it is time someone demand accountability for the tax dollars being spent to Northrop Grumman, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon,Blackwater etc.
We have 10's of thousands of US military personnel in Japan and Germany. We also have a large presence in Guam.
Perhaps it is time that be questioned as who would the US potentially go to war with, as opposed to the enormous cost of keeping these forces in place on foreign soil.
Just out of curiosity...it has been widely reported on over the last several days....even on Faux news...about the controversy surrounding the RNC, its chair Mr. Steele and his parties spending spree at a strip club. Where is your story on that Havre Daily Corrector. I think this could be a great forum for discussion for Havre, but as it stands it is just a right wing bitch session with very little balance. Seeing your posts on which DEMOCRAT you hate for the day is getting old FAST.
Red: Are you actually comparing the disgusting behaviour the Republicans exhibited at Voyeur club in Cali where a horrendous $2000 was spent to this idiot? Wow! You can talk all you want about Republican hypocrisy and perhaps even this blog's own tendencies, but give me a break. This guy does not deserve to be defended at all, nor do the idiot Republicans spending private money at a strip club, but you cannot equate the two. The Repubs might have been thoughless and stupid with there $2,000, but this guy is a member of Congress and DeCon, have you flipped your lid? This guy has been all over the news trying to explain his comment, because even people in his own district in Georgia think the guy slipped a cog!
Well railroader...actually I was NOT making any comparisons, but now that you mention it, they are both stupid. This guy just sounds extremely stupid and I would wonder if something was taken out of context?? At any rate if you want to go tit for tat when it comes to Dems vs Repub spouting off dumb stuff...you could probably take most of anything that comes out of Michele Bachman (sp?) or Sarah Palin, heck Bush Jr. once said he wanted to get OB GYN's back to practicing their love for women. What is your point? My point was that if this blog is just going to be a bitch session about what the latest dumb insignificant thing to come out of the Democratic Party while simultaneously ignoring significant gaffes in the Republican party than what is the real purpose of this blog. If that is its purpose, that is fine, then I will see it as that and go from there.
Well "idoitthumper" ?? It was a 2 min clip...was their some sort of sarcasm going on before or after?? He is claiming it was sarcasm, although through the clip that was provided by the corrector I don't see anything sarcastic...but this is the corrector or the local Faux news affiliate, so you never know. Sean Hannity showed a clip of the tea party rally and it was from a gathering that had happened 6 months prior...jus sayin. Which ever is the case, this guy sounded dumb, no argument there!!
Don't become like this guy Red I watched an even larger portion of this hearing over at C-span.org and this Congressman is being serious. His concern for our servicemen has nothing to do with money DeConstructor and I for one don't have a problem with the defense spending of our country. Unlike all these schemes Obama has started in his short tenure, Defense is one of the things the Federal Government is supposed to do according to the Constitution and Guam is a Federal Territory. Its a beautiful island and I would highly recommend going if you have the opportunity. I was fortunate to go there once.
The healthcare suggestion here is this guy who obviously has no idea about island geology is expected to understand the complexities of the healthcare bill and voted on it? God Help Us! Oops sorry my mention of God probably upset the likes of libs on this site!! My bad.
OK so..."Tax Cheat", u don't have a problem with a 700 BILLION dollar defense budget....really? What am I missing people? You are pissed over health care for all Americans, at a fraction of this price, but no issue with this defense budget..really? Really? Really?
When are you people going to wake up??? This healthcare thing is going to cost us trillions. Stop believing this hocus pocus crap Congress and the President are spewing and think about it. When has Congress and the President (from any party) ever been right on its budget projections? Here's a hint never. Not Republicans or Democrats. So you say this is a fraction of the $700 billion why? Because you believe their numbers? First lets take the defense budget. Yes it is huge and bloated, do I lay awake worrying about it? No. Now that is not say it certainly could be cut perhaps by hundreds of billions of dollars but it is one of the few constitutionally required activities of the U.S. Federal government, healthcare is not. Secondly 50% of that budget is personnel, should we cut that? How many jobs is that? A lot. Obama just like Bush before him doesn't spend the defense budget on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. No the wars are separate expenditures often funded by supplemental appropriations, meaning they are paid for after the fact as opposed to budgeted and appropriated. Is this right, nope and it wasn't under Bush either. You folks need to realize though that while Obama may have delivered on healthcare, albeit in a bill most of the libs are not terribly impressed with but can survive with, Obama's foreign policy and specifcally his defense policies aer eerily (sp?) similar to Bush's. Now on healthcare the reason they can pretend the cost is low is two reasons 1) the medicare doctor reimbursement deal (often called the Doctor Fix) they cooked up which by Congressional estimates is as much as $350B was left out of the CBO score and 2) the bill begins taxing us now, but doesn't get fully implemented until 2014. So this means that when the projected cost is described in 10 year terms we're talking about 10 years of revenue, but only 6 years of spending. How they project out a $trillion savings the second 10 years has never really been explained, but who's counting by then.
Now for the smell test. How can you add 30 million people to a system all the Dems were decrying as failing and unsustainable just three short weeks ago, cover all sick people and controlling premiums, increase access and quality all for nothing and then actually say we will save money too? Come on it is not possible. It will bankrupt us, but we were heading there anyway so why the heak worry, right? By Obama's own mouth this is the biggest entitlement program in since Medicare in the 60's and you are actually going to swallow this spin from them that it will not cost us more in fact it will cost less? Excuse me, but perhaps you should be looking into the mental health benefits because what is the definition of entitlement? Another hint, it is not a cost savings tool, I'll tell you that.
I'm not bitching red, I was cut a deal on my plan through my union, yippee! The rest of you schmucks get to pay, but not me and i'll be retired by the time 2018 rolls around so good luck paying young people. Ha Ha Ha!
I was merely pointing out that this guy from Georgia is an idiot, but I am glad he voted on healthcare!
it boogles my mind that there are always people on this blog that will defend any type of ignorant action and blame it all on a cast right wing witch hunt
Ignorant is ignorant, no matter the party. Again I say that people that vote strictly by party are the root of all the governments problems and shortcomings

I think the people of New Orleans might agree.
You need to work the spiond desk for a newspaper decon. There is no logical explanation for his questions except he is a moron
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry he just happens to be a democrat that you feel the need to defend
Is there no democrats you won't make excuses for?

ReplyDeleteFunny video but I am left to wonder what that has to do with his vote on health care other than some sort of intended partisan slight.
ReplyDeleteDoes knowledge of Guam somehow relate to knowledge of HCR?
Out of context??? It's a video of the idiot in his own words. Watch the video, how do you take that out of context???
