IS THIS THE BEST MAYOR-ELECT SOLOMON CAN GET FOR ADVISORS?

Yesterday this blogger was called and told that Mayor-elect Tim Solomon was again seen in his county truck pulling into the failed Greek Restaurant in South Havre for an executive meeting with his two top ranking political and economic advisors. We at the Havre Daily Corrector jumped immediately into our car and raced down 5th Avenue to try and determine what the “facts” really were. To our astonishment we observed 3 vehicles in the now defunct restaurant parking lot, one of which was Solomon’s county pickup, and the other two we determined belonged to former restaurant operator Jimmy Tripperanus and Councilman Bob Kaul. Further calls and investigation latter that afternoon by those of us at the Havre Daily Corrector leads us to believe that the meeting was held for the purpose of Solomon receiving advice from these two idiots as to just whom should be selected to be on the various City of Havre Council committees.
While the Havre Daily Corrector bloggers were divided as to which mayoral candidate was the best choice prior to the election, the thought that Solomon is now seriously considering any advice from a failed “businessman” and an “early” retiree from the railroad that had been stuffed away as the “safety” officer until the railroad could find a way to get him out of their hair has us perplexed. Why would any sane person take any advice from these two dim-bulbs?
We think Havre is in for a very long 4 years.
Shouldn't a new mayor talk to all of the council before making these decisions? And aren't these appointments usually made after a couple months on the job so as to determine who is best suited to the committees? I think you are accurate here as I have also heard that Kaul was telling the new mayor who he should select.

Well Jimbo its cuz stupid is as stupid does. YOu got Jimmy the Greek, Know it all ca boy Kaul and Slim Tim getten it all figured out. The council commitys should be pick as soon as possible to carry on the cities business and Slim Tim should pick those seasoned members of the council to chair the important committees, and let the newies learn from them.Ca boy Kaul may live in the city but he has been a good old boy with the county sheriff boys for some time and he wants the city and county law inforcement departments combined always has always will. Jimmy , ca boy are just looking for some attention That being in the shadow of Slim Timmake them feel important and maybe powerful. Really I don't think all three of them together could put out half a thought. All the people of this fair city need to really keep there eyes open for what is to come, in about three and a half weeks Getter done Mayor Bob is gone and and outta sight Slim Tim will be taking over( or maybe taking cover). Its a sad time when the likes of Jimmy the greek, Ca boy Kauland Slim Tim have the control of the city, (or is it to be the department heads) Or (the commisioners) or hell who knows who will be in control. Maybe I should call Porcupine head or pudden head and they can tell me. OH form sad days to come
ReplyDeleteI want to hear opinions from readers of the Corrector, but the personal attacks turn me off to reading it. Nobody deserves to be called an idiot or dim bulb or anything else derogatory. Please lose the personal nastiness. It's just not necessary.
ReplyDeleteI found this post unbelievable and thought you had added a lot of embellishment to the story as I know Solomon and also know these other two “dim bulbs, as you put it”. I have been to council meeting and have listened to long drawn out and unintelligent ramblings from Jim about how the city is screwing him as a landlord, etc and etc. I have also heard Kaul on a variety of subjects at every single council meeting I have attended because, he loves to get quoted in the paper, and I agree that he doesn’t come off as an academic. Solomon, on the other hand hasn’t appeared to be as “dim” to me as the other two so I really did think the Corrector was exaggerating because of some personal distaste for those three individuals. However, this morning I did see with my own eyes the three of them coming out of Char’s at around 10am this morning. Sorry to say, I forgot to look to see if there was a county pickup there also.
ReplyDeleteI am also sorry I doubted the Corrector, apparently there is some behind the doors advice being rendered by those you have labeled the “dim-bulbs”
By the way, I think you go a little far sometimes also, but think that the label “dim-bulbs” in this instance is accurate
Isn't Alan Woodwick the council President? Shouldn't he at least be included in making coucil committe appointments? UNLESS ............... the plan is to make Kaul council president? What a stroke of luck that would be for the county commissioners.
ReplyDeleteIt appears to me that the Democrats should try to reign in their troops before the passing of the baton to Solomon in January to get in agreement as a group
Maybe Solomons and his buddies have some vast left-wing conspiracy planned
Council committees are the sole choise of the Mayor. Council members and that includes Woodwick can make suggestions But the mayor hs the final say. committees can also be a polical weapon in the mayors arsenal.
ReplyDeleteBob Kaul has shown that he will spend the time to research the facts. He should quit wasting his time on the council and run for the Legislative seat that Bob Bergren is termed out of now that he has gained some importance in Havre
