Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians of Montana


John Sinclair of Havre, Chairman of Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians of Montana has been outed as a white by Travis Kavulla on the Electric City Weblog this morning.  http://electriccityweblog.com/?p=7518  The Electric City Web Blog has graciously provided copies of the birth certificates of John and both of his parents which show “white” as their race. Mr. Sinclair, with Senator Tester’s assistance recently testified before the Senate’s Committee on Indian Affairs on November 4, 2009 http://indian.senate.gov/public/_files/Sinclairstatement2.pdf   Be sure and check out the links for further information.

Perhap’s a little more investigation is needed as to the leadership of the Little Shell Tribe and the people "assisting" them in their quest for recognition?

    If these guys spent as much time at a paying job as they do trying to get government aid they would be rolling in money.

    Most of the Little Shell affiliated people I know are great people and have jobs, etc. If you have broken free of the failures of the reservation, like alcoholisim, drugs, unemployment, etc, why would they want to pull their children back into that mess by getting themselves their own reservation?

    Doesn't make sense to me

    Why haven't any of our "investigative" top-notch reporters uncovered this little tid-bit of information in the last 6-8 years this Little Shell story has been in the news?

    Glad there are bloggers out there bringing us the news instead
