DONATIONS TO MAYOR RICE'S 2009 CAMPAIGN

The Havre Daily Corrector has had several requests for a post about who donated to the campaign of Mayor Rice who was beaten in the Mayor’s race by Tim Solomon. According to the Commissioner of Political Practices reports Mayor Rice contributed $200 to his own campaign as well as a one-hundred dollar donation from the Hilll County Republican Central Committee.

$160 was donated each by  Bill Baltrusch, Betty Baltrusch, Vinee Thompson, Dave Henry, Ken Myers, and Karen Myers. One-hundred dollar donors include Mary VanBuskirk, Larry Adams, Lou Adams, Dave Abbott and Tillie Patterson. Bill and Gail Rader also donated $50 to the campaign.

Hope this satisfies everyone’s inquiring minds that want to know.

  1. HAVRE here - thanks for the information. After seeing who the donors to Bob Rice for mayor were I now understand why "Mayor Bob" created the Bill Baltrusch Walking Trail. Had I known sooner I could have sent some money Bob's way for a project named after me!

  2. The bill baltrusch amount listed here is just a pittance of what our good Mayor got out of baltrusch. I would say that it is probably a good thing the Mayor is leaving town because his best friend Baltrusch, who he coffees with and/or dines with daily, will have a new best friend Tim Solomon come January 1st. Baltrusch is always "best" friends with who ever is Mayor and/or public works director. Just think back 20-30 years and try to name one he wasn't "pals" with

Thats one thing you can say for the Mayor, he constantly had his hand out to those that he could extract something from to help all his "causes" whether they be for the city, one of his many signs thanking and kissing butt of various persons, or his other "good" deeds.

I hope Tim puts his hand out too, not only for his own pocket, but for some "good" deed projects of his own. I would venture to guess however, that Mayor Tim will be an hour or two a day Mayor and won't have any time for "good" deeds

  5. Keep in mind that during the Rice years that 90% of all city/civil contracting dollars went to Baltrusch. I just wonder whom Billy is going to have coffe with every afternoon...It will be fun to watch Baltrusch kiss soloman's ass.

  6. I thought it was Jimmy Tripperanus and Bob Kaul that have been seen holding Solomon's hand and advising him on his every move as mayor? I drive past that bankrupt defunct greek restuarant every day and many, many times during the mayor's race I saw the county truck with Solomon meeting with Bob and Jimmy.
(Isn't driving a county rig while campaigning illegal or something?)

Thats a warm fuzzy feeling, the new mayor aligns with, and takes advice from those two nit-wits.

  7. and I forgot to mention, Bob Sivertson was with them numerous times also. So it will be the three stooges and karl marx at city hall.

I wonder if the new Mayor is going to put 4 desks in his office so they all can still be together?

  8. As far as the Bill Baltrusch Trail goes, Bill's right hand man and convicted Cocaine buyer is back in town so don't be surprised to see new "white lines' marking the trail
