Duran Caferro says the GOP in Montana is "On the Ropes"

Ever heard of a guy named Duran Caferro? He is currently employed as a field organizer for the Montana Democrat Party and also is the reigning USA Boxing National Champion from Helena Montana who has a good shot at representing the USA in the 2012 Olympics.

Well our lone disenfranchised Democrat blogger received an e-mail from Democrat Party headquarters today from Mr. Caferro asking her for a small donation to help deliver the knock-out punch to the Montana GOP on Tuesday. In part, here is what he had to say.
Before I started working as an organizer for the Montana Democratic Party, I was the #1 ranked amateur boxer, so I know when someone is on the ropes. And I can tell you, we've got the Montana GOP right where we want them.

For months, MDP field organizers and volunteers have been going door-to-door talking to voters about the issues that are important to them and what's at stake this election. And with just four days to go, our message is winning.
Interesting part of Duran's message to me was the statement that the MDP "field organizers and volunteers" have been doing all the work which is exactly who has been working to get the local Democrat candidates here in Havre elected while the GOP candidates from our area have actually been working the campaign themselves. I don’t know about you but I tend to vote for the person I think will work the hardest for me, the over-burdened tax-payer, instead of those that have had others do all their campaigning for them. Clearly that is not the Democrats in our area this year.

Duran is also an advocate for expanding the Montana Chips program and the following is his promotion of that program. Best wishes to you Duran in your quest to be part of the 2012 Olympics team as all of Montana will be rooting for you but I rather doubt your prediction that a “knockout” by your party will be delivered on tuesday. See his video “At the Gym, A Human Rights Story” where he proclaims that Health Care is a Human Right.

  1. He seems like a decent kid and is only doing what he has been taught.

He was raised using Chips so he naturally assumes he should raise his kids using Chips. I was a little taken back that he constantly called the Chips program his health Insurance. It is not insurance it is a FREE program given away. Duren seems to want you to believe Chips is something he pays for. NOT SO!

Someone answer me this..........If the Democrats are so gung-ho about everyone having health care insurance and belonging to a union why does their employee have to be on the welfare insurance to begin with?

Give the kid some benefits. Where is the union that will picket the Dem Party about their bad working conditions, no insurance, no retirement plan, and pay so low that their employees qualify for subsistance programs?

    Phony double talking lying SOB's

  2. yeah...
helena and washing-down are full of phony double talking sobs.
otherwise, jimbo and every other citizen would have what they all deserve...
    free health care...
    oh wait...
    that's a perk...
    another one we pay for...
that the ceo's and congressflem enjoy.

  3. Good point Jim. Why doesn't he have insurance from work?

I have seen him fight and he is a good fighter

I didn't know he thought it was ok that I was paying for his state health insurance with my taxes

  5. I am no longer on a government health care program and neither is my son. My son and I were both on the CHIP program at separate times and each for less than a year. Being able to continue to receive basic checkups from my doctor allowed me to reach my full potential in the ring and out. I am the man I am today because of two principal American values; hard work and perseverance. This and access to healthcare have allowed me to become a talented, resourceful, intelligent young man who also pays taxes. I pay for healthcare for my son as well out of pocket. Because of my patriotism and love for Montana, I will GLADLY pay my taxes for kids just like me to reach their full potential. When it comes to children, healthcare is a no brainer. I-155 passed with an overwhelming 326,565 votes. 7 out of every 10 Montanans voted to stand up for children's health. This is not a split decision, that is a knockout! The veiws expressed by others in the above comments are extremist, and you would know this if you were an involved individual knocking on the doors of residence and listening to their concerns. Every kid deserves a shot at the American Dream, which ought to not be derailed because of lack of healthcare.

  6. Duran Tuesday wasn't much of a knockout for the Republicans

and your video didn't make it sound like you were only on the free program for a year

  7. 85% of us have insurance: Why delute the whole system for the 15%?
In reality everyone gets taken care of.
