RANDY RANDOLPH ENTERS COUNTY ATTORNEY CAT FIGHT

Local attorney, Randy Randolph has filed for the office of Hill County Attorney as a Democrat. Randolph will be competing with current county attorney Gina Dahl and deputy county attorney Lindsey Lorang in a three way primary election on June 8th. As of today, no Republicans have filed.

We at the Corrector hear that tensions are escalating at the county attorney’s office between Gina Dahl and her deputy Lindsey Lorang who had the audacity to file against her. We wonder what the addition of yet a third candidate will bring to this race. Will they forget the attacks against each other and turn on Randolph? Speculation is rampant as to which candidate Randolph will bleed votes from. Will he garner some of Dahl’s support or that of Lorangs? Can Randolph pull off an upset by voters sick of politics at the courthouse? What do our readers think?

  1. I remember when that latest murder trial what going to start there in Havre. And the state government brought in some other prosecutors try the case cuz they know that the current county attorneys office there was going to Royally screw the pooch on that murder trial. For those of you who did not know that, and vote in that town... Well, here is some additional wisdom to ruminate over

  2. And further more I really don't care who wins what election there. I don't live there anymore, and I have no intention on moving back there to live. NO WAY! I'd rather live in Pyongyang North Korea.

  3. That photo is feloniously funny! Come to think of it, given the rate at which this County Attorney's Office currently files Felony charges - which SHOULD be an issue in the upcoming election - y'all might want to be watching your backs! ;)

  4. Yeah I think bigskygal is Right!! Lets be honest a secret in Havre can NEVER be kept, most especially something like this blog/website and its methods of attack! (and when I say methods of attack I'm am trying to put myself in the position of thinking like them NOT ME).. Word will leak, slowly and then... Everyone will soon find out right when you are sitting in Judge Rice's court room as a defendant.. bigskygal is right.. Watch your back and take heed!!! I'll be honest it would be disappointing to see this site go bye bye. This site is better at gathering stories then the HDN, a little agenda drivin' but funny entertaining and anyone can participate..

  5. Folks had better be somewhat Leery of someone who changes his cap so quick!Randy being a DEFENSE for all those years...Now Prosecuter
gets ya wondering about all the cases he has lost so easily...hhmmm
...and then there is Dahl, who used to be Bishop...her main witness for years on many cases is now her hubby...and it was sure a quick divorce and remarry...thats some good-ole boy JUSTICE for ya!...

    ReplyDelete
  6. wait just one minute?? Your tell us that she used her husband as a witness in order for her to win her cases??? Really???? First of all prove it to me. And if you can, How the fuck can she get away with that? Isn't there something in court they call "conflict of interest." Wow, if what you(NEO-CON) said is true. How in the fuck did she get away with that?

  7. Had to sign in to this one!!!!

I hired Randy Randolph years ago and I wouldn't give him my vote for anything!!!

As far as I'm concerned---he shouldn't be able to practice any kind of law!

    What a disappointment...

    Havre beware....

  9. I think some balls in that office (pun intended) is exactly what we need! Randy has done a great job for his clients, and coming from the defense side and going to the prosecution side he has a great understanding of what's right and what ain't. We will also see a decrease in the bogus felony charges that are filed and LOST in District Court. I'm voting for Randy!

  10. Also thought I might send some meow mix to the County Attorney's Office for Valentines Day.

  11. Remember.....Randolph ran against former county atty Peterson as a Republican!! Why the flip/flop to the Democratic ticket this time?? lack of support from his Republican friends? trying to work the system?? What are his true colors??

    ReplyDelete
  12. Even a Republican may prove smarter then the two we have in there now.

    And more experience

  13. Well Hans...let me draw U a map...
Dahl is a deputy with the Sheriff's Dept.He makes an arrest
and has to testify if a trial takes place.Gena was "the other woman" for awhile(about a year I think)If U need to know the stats on cases go look it up!meanwhile
I still think that Dahl's ex-wife has a great case for Alienation of affection against Gena(love to follow that!)...I for one am not Impressed with her "ETHICS"!...now back to Randy...If he was to win the post he would be Prosecuting those same people that he has defended and has prior knowledge of
all thier private info...which is why its a real bad idea, when someone is capable of abandoning thier beliefs or ethics for what is
a complete FLIP! I would'nt be capable of trusting anything that person does... EVER!!

  14. Corvett....don't send anything!! U can be charged as a Terrorist for it!!!Look it up in the Patriot Act

  15. ...Just so it doesn't look like I am singling out this Lindsy gal
as the obvious choice amongst our power panel of candidates...I know nothing about her?...Does she have any Dangling Skelotons in her closet?...any recent Ethics Issues?
was she invited to be a deputy DA or applied?...lets look forward to a What-IF...what if Lindsy won the position?...would Gena remain as her Deputy?...after all she does have Expierience & that would help in that office...or...go into private practice?...maybe as a Defense Attorney?...or just go to another county and start her career over?...makes one wonder...

  16. isn't it a shame that the reporters at the HDN don't do any Hard-Hitting reporting?...Is it a
"Policy" not to?...is someone afraid to poke the bear?...The "Elephant" is in the room so to speak on several Issues here locally & state wide & the HDN
reports on all the Goody-Goody stuff like kids comments on some silly question....why not go around and get comments from people on thier views of the IMPORTANT issues?...U know...REPORTING!!!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I would like to address comments to the effect that Attorney Randolph is crossing an ethical line by potentially moving from private practice that includes criminal defense work, by expressing aspirations to serve his community as County Attorney.

Such comments belie an ignorance of the very nature of the practice of law, how lawyers are trained and the ethics by which they practice. A good attorney has acquired a solid set of tools that s/he can apply equally to either side of a case, whether prosecution or defense. In the practice of criminal law, the attorney's primary objective - on either side - is to uphold the tenets of our criminal justice system and to preserve the Constitutional rights of the parties involved and upon which the system is built - it should NEVER be to win at all costs! Many of the finest attorneys in our criminal justice system, often ones who have gone on to serve in judicial positions, have practiced as both defenders and prosecutors. Even the US military's elite JAG Corps requires every attorney to have experience on both sides of the criminal courtroom.

Being an idealogue is a VERY bad attribute in a prosecutor in particular, given the incredible power of that office relative to almost all others in public life. The best prosecutors are able to exercise their discretion in such a way to best serve the communities they protect, including by knowing which cases need to be pursued aggressively and which should be handled by alternate means. Having the ability to make those judgments serves the public both from an aspect of ensuring public safety, as well as judicial efficiency and overall cost savings.

  18. Excellent post bigskygal.

I would simply add that if Randy wins he would not be prosecuting those he has defended. That would fall to a deputy Co.Atty or even to a Co. Atty from another county.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Well NEO that map that you drew for me is very clear. I do remember Dahl is a deputy for the sheriff's office..

    ReplyDelete
  20. Let them tear each other apart in the primary.

Isn't there a Independent or Republican attorney that has a brain that can run for this office?

I just heard that every single elected person in the courthouse is a Democrat. Who will tattle on what they are hiding from us when they are all from the same hood? We need at least one opposing party there to squeal on the rest of those that are hiding thier sins amoungst brother party members

    ReplyDelete
  21. Obviously Randy sees an opportunity for himself in a 3 way race hoping to split the democratic vote between the ladies and hoping he can pull out enough crossover republican votes.

    ReplyDelete
  22. It interesting how quick people are to judge when they don't have the facts humm. For one thing, Mr. Dahl was married before and didn't leave his wife for Gina Bishop.Do you know whom his wife was because if you do a little investigating on that end you would completely understand that he was not at fault for that marriage breaking up. Her name will answere all of your questions. That being said you must not have any companionship in your life or you wouldn't be so quick to jump to conclusions and rule on ethical behavior her behavior wasn't unethical, personal and has NOTHING to do with her job. As for her husband Mr. Dahl he is not a deputy at the Hill County Sheriffs Office he is the Jail Administrator, yes in the past he was a Deputy and of coarse was called in to testify as any officer of the law is when they are INVOLVED in a case. THere are plenty of other deputy's who work in the office if you check the case files that have also testified that is their job, look it up and get back to us would you. It is public record.
As for the county attorney's office bringing in the States Attorney's office for a large murder trial that is Standard Protocal becuase when they are huge cases like that of course they bring in the states Attorney's office it has NOTHING to do with the qualifications of the Hill County Attorney's Office and their personnel handling the cases. If our personnel devoted all of their time to that one huge case they wouldn't have any time to handle any of the other cases on the docket.
As for Mr. Randolph, well he has created his own publicity and I would think would be crucified for moving across party lines each time he decides to run for office. That being said good luck trying to get any votes because party loyalty is a huge factor in the race. And why not run as a Republican like before because there wasn't even one on the ticket and then at least he could carry this out the entire year instead of ending all of this fun in June in the primary. He made his own bed, let see how it ends up.

  23. Well said FRED. For those of use that have lived in Havre for any real duration. Then we certainly have seen or heard Randy in action. His some what questionable reputation speeks for itself.
As far as Gina or Lindsey, yes I imagine tensions are very high in the office. But we will just have to see how it plays out.
I would like to say to all of use that are reading and now posting, as well as the administrator of this blog. Please before you post know the facts. The Daily Corrector is a great source of info, way better then the Daily snooze. But its biggest enemy is letting it turn into a place of rumer and gossip. I hope most of use want the real facts, not a bunch of Tabloid posts.

  24. Well Fred...U offer alot of Defense but no Data...U see the Time-Frame of all the events coinciding add up to
a Pre-divorce relationship, now if U think that certain "moral ethics"
can just be cast aside to suit the situation, then the possibility that some "Testimony" couldn't be closely rehearsed...then U live in a bubble
look...I know people are "Just Human"
but the circumstances involved in a trial where someones FREEDOM is in Jeopardy, any Personal contact between them should have excused both from any testimony on that case!...Period!!...that is the "ETHICAL" thing to do...and the
    "Constitutional" thing to do....Excuse Me...

  25. I think it is a toss up between these three as to who is even qualified

Maybe we should just consider voting for Randolph because he would be a fresh face in this den of vipers? New blood so to speak?

  28. Why, Corrector do you insist on calling this race a cat fight? Because it is two women? This is the second time and it is most offensive. I am not at this point supporting any candidate for this race. But please stop being so narrow minded and rude in your coverage by referring to this race as a "cat fight". It might force some of your readership to use language offensive to other readers mothers.

    ReplyDelete
  29. That's right Kate..It is offensive to call it a "cat fight"

"Bitch slapped" or "pussy whipped" would be far more accurate......

Sorry to the Moms out there... this is the internet..

  30. To the DeConstructer you are back in your stupid mode again.I know this is the internet but we do have control of what we type.It would be nice to cancel my subscription to the HDN and their coward reporting and make the Havre Daily Corrector a legitimate choice to pay for.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm just curious how Neo-Con nows it was a pre-divorce relationship?? A little mid-night window peeking?? Any attorney with a shred of common sense would not invite a miss-trial. By having a witness that would bring up a conflict of interest. Thats why we have deputy attorneys.
Hey Neo the National Enquirer called they have a job offer for you.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Sorry Kate if we offended your gender, we apologize. While we do sometimes do things to intentually offend someone, particularly stupid candidates or an idiot politician, that was not our intention in this case. To be brutally honest here, none of the three candidates are stellar choices by any stretch of the imagination, female or otherwise.

We do like using sarcasm and cutting comments and will do so again however if you have a better smart-aleck handle for those two that is less offensive to our readers we would be glad to switch to it. De Constructer – your terms aren’t exactly something that is acceptable either so we will all have to come to some compromise. We will try to at least keep this blog between a PG-13 and below an R rating.

We had a little informational meeting tonight amongst our fellow bloggers and have decided to take sanctions against any further use of the F-word or outright filth. We control both the Ban button and the blocking mechanism of this blog so we will make the rules. Repeated nonsense that offends our readers continually will result in a “time out” for the commenter that is purposely driving everyone nutty. We don’t want this to develop into either a late night Red Fox show or a porn site so help us out here a bit readers

    Thanks

  33. I could do with out the f-word but I liked the cat fight analogy. Those two are spitting fire at each other and I am uncertain what Randolph brings to the mix but I like the dog link :-)

I think they are being funny kate

The dumb pictures on here always make me smile like the one of monkey anderson in the tie. That was great

Keep it up corrector. This blog is always good for a smile

    ReplyDelete
  34. The Corrector states that 'none of the three candidates are stellar choices by any stretch of the imagination, female or otherwise.'

One wonders what interested parties are doing, if anything, to urge a better candidate - Democrat or Republican - to enter the race?

  36. I read the comments on the blog and after doing so, I find myself sitting here scratching my head. I hear people throwing spears at the County Attorney's office regarding the cases that they prosecute. I could be wrong, but normally it takes someone to commit a criminal act that brings these cases to their attention. Now I agree that there are no two cases alike, but normally to have a felony case, you need to have a victim. We can rule out drug cases in this discussion as they are normally called crimes against society. Now taking this fact into consideration, this means that if the County Attorney does not prosecute the case, then there is a victim out there that is left holding the bag for damages. This may be medical bills or property damage to name a few. I know that if I was a victim, I would want to get my money back, or at least make sure that the person responsible, have a time out. If a drunk runs into my car and does not have insurance, then we in Havre are all affected by the uprising of insurance costs. If I am assaulted, then I am required to pay medical costs if the culprit is not charged. If someone burns down my house, then again, my insurance costs go up and I am victimized not once but TWICE! Simply some food for thought people. I can not make or explain all the points in one short blog. Although I would love to. Maybe offer a little light behind the door.

  37. How come you don't really hear about this (prosecuting atty election issues) in a more populated, faster paced, less barn yard mentality parts of the country? And when it does, someone comes out of the wood-works faster then a Bugatti Veyron, and beats the holy-living-fuck all the other ass-clown politicians that everyone seem to be VERY dissatisfied with.. Yeah having a good prosecutor is very important to an area like Havre where you have people 20 miles to the south of you who come up to your town to party (cuz lets face it Havre has more resources) and some goes for 40 miles to the east... And like I coundn't help to notice that Concerned citizen did bring up the insurance part alot, AND DON'T BLAME HIM @ ALL.. Hate to sound like a ....... but some people feel the need to pay for insurance so it's people like Conerned citizen that fucked no matter what happens... Sad... But True.. I remember when my father's gauge was burglarize, after confronting a few of them they told him (my Dad) who did it, and right when my father had him by the collar in one hand and getting ready to blast him in the other he said "but T**** you have insurance you're not really going to get screwed.. Then their was the time when my dad was in the basement putting the new pool table together and there was this woman who would come over and barrow money from him so she could go play bingo. she did pay him back most of the time. But she came over while he was in the basement putting this pool table together and she asked asked him for $ he said no cuz she didn't pay back the last loan. and between the basement and the door leaving the house is where dad kept his chainsaws.. after he told her no, and she was making her way out of the house my dad told my mom to escort her out of the house (the other women didn't hear that) and right when my mother turn the corner she busted that woman red-handed trying to steal my dad's chainsaw....

  38. ooopppss made a few typing errors... I'm doing tech support and blogging @ the same time :p.. some of those people feel the need to have insurance.. they don't buy cuz they feel they don't need it.. and I messed up on the part where I ment to say was "same goes for those people that are 40 miles east of you... anyway gotta go to the post office later.... ....Meine Ehre heißt Treue. 42. Well if you want damage control over the Lindsay Lorang issue word has it that her husband was in rare form at a local fundraiser this weekend and went after current county attorney Dahl over the election. Whatever the facts are I am sure there will be more reports as the week goes on. Talk about moral behavior is this his race or hers?

    ReplyDelete

  45. I would urge all Havre citizens to do some research on all the candidates in this race. It might be a good idea to ask your favorite local attorneys (that you trust) who they would like to see hold this position. Those in the legal field might have insight into all three canddates and can offer a suggestion as to whom would be make the best candidate.

That being said, I agree with Bigskygal that someone should look into the number of felonies filed by the current CA. There is an enormous difference between being tough on crime and wasting tax payers' money trying to make a name for yourself by racking up the felonies.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I agree with people implying that no one should vote Gina Dahl out of office due to any personal reasons about her personal past. And I think we should stop posting such garbage here. This is NOT a rumor mill, or I least I hope it does not become that.

Havre citizens should, however, vote her out of office based on her record.

To Concerned Citizen, I agree with everything you wrote--100%. However, there are many, many ways to make criminals pay retribution to said victims AND punish the criminals themselves. Gina Dahl beleives it is her duty to slap a felony on each and every case that comes before her, regardless of what the facts, history or circumstances are. (I am told you can practically see the judge roll his eyes at some of her shenanigans).

As you yourself point out, CC, all cases are not the same and I would add, they should not be treated the same.

Our legal system, while being the greatest in the world, is not perfect. Therefore it is extremely important we put people in office to carry out this system in a thoughtful manner--someone who adheres to the spirit of the law at all times. Someone who is concerned with our town and each of its citizens and not his or her own career or record.

It is my belief that Gina Dahl is not tough on crime, but rather a waste of taxpayers' money who puts her career and record ahead of anything and everything else.

I believe either of her two opponents would do a better job.
