DEEP THINKING LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

I see in the letters to the editor that last few days that our good Democrats must be again focusing on a letter to the editor campaign to help us with our “mis-guided” thought process. Yesterday I read an article from former legislator Democrat Ray Peck who was just bewildered as to why the press would even cover the sexcapades of Max Baucus. News flash here for poor old Ray! The newspapers love covering trash, but the fact that this trash is being lived by the nation’s most powerful Senator and his bimbo who just happen to be from Montana is surely newsworthy to Montana voters. Time for the “Ax Max” campaign to begin, not by the Republicans this time, but by the Democrats themselves. Did not Mr. Peck notice that Savior Obama’s approval rating is in the tank and Max is only helping lay shame to the Democrats?

Today a letter to the editor appears in the HDN from former Editor Karen Datko who's employment was terminated by the HDN, expounding on the greatness of ObamaCare for all the peasants. What she fails to mention is just who is going to get to pay for this? Apparently she is now a financial expert because when I googled her name what did I find but that she is the Lead blogger of MSN Money’s Smart Spending Blog    http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/SmartSpending/default.aspx  The blog says “A veteran reporter and editor with more than 30 years in the newspaper business, she is now a freelance writer and editor who shares her Havre, Mont., home with dogs Furio and Phoebe Mae” The blog failed to mention that she also makes her living not only by writing, but also by operating a dog walking service in Havre. Yes indeedie, Most qualified to give financial advice.

Check out some of the articles she has authored for the MSN blog, such as the advice given here on how to buy your casket at Wal-Mart and save big $$$.  http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/SmartSpending/blog/page.aspx?post=1342261&_blg=1,1342261  or maybe you prefer the article on how to save money on professional photographers by using your own digital camera and an online photo editor like SnapShot. All in all, a very buy at home type of person.

After all these years of hoping for better, I find it is now time for a “new” way of thinking. It has finally dawned on me that it is we, the taxpayers, which will ultimately get the bill for this type of thinking.

What say you blog readers?

  1. Personal cheap shots.
Do you recieve as well as give?
I think in your circles it is called a "top" and a "bottom"

The world would be a lot better off if persons such as yourself would just sit in your basement, and listen to your limbaugh while fondling yourself.

Keep making personal cheap shots and this will be a very long discussion.

  2. my lord you are hissing. and the longest discussion the deconstructor might have is if it is about thy self.

  3. Whoa Corrector dude! Apparently you hit a nerve with DeConstructor and just before I was about to agree with a couple points too.
I have lived here many years and Ray has always talked down to the dumb voters just because he is so damn intelligent. His letter wasn’t anything that isn’t normal for him but it is interesting to me that he never brags up Governor Schweitzer anymore since the Governor sacked him at the capital, and of course, quite a few Republicans like Schweitzer so that can’t be acceptable to a diehard democrat that would vote for a pig if it had a democrat T-shirt on.
I also read Datko’s letter to the editor and that also wasn’t a surprise. She continually ran leftist greenie liberal crap in the paper during her tenure there. What I find interesting is that all these health care “experts” and financial “gurus” have no personal experience on the subjects which they write. Just look at all the brilliant “generals” we have heard from during every war or conflict America has been involved with.
And for your information DeConstructor, I can’t stand Limbaugh. I personally like to fondle myself in the basement with an old rerun of Jane Fonda playing where she’s talking about what’s wrong with America.

  5. Maybe that's why she got shit canned at the paper? Now with Murri's liberal ass gone too maybe the Havre paper can again become a community paper instead of a tree huggers wet dream

  6. Now that Hurt DeConstructor.
What would make you think I listen to Limbaugh? That attitude is exactly what I see as wrong with the Democrat Party today and that is why many of us are forsaking our allegiance to it. You Dems have forgotten us and moved to a socialist agenda. Most of us are just working stiffs trying to make our way in the world and even so called liberal Democrats can get sick of funding every socialist program that is dreamed up. There is no longer a party we fit into and this Obama change is the end for many of us. Why is it only those that never pay for anything that always think all these programs and plans are the answer? Because …………………. Again more benefits and entitlements without cost.
I thank you for your opinion and would welcome you to post a guest blog if you wish. I also wish to thank those that participated here as you have given me another GREAT Idea for a follow up blog. OUR READERS ARE THE BEST!

  7. Workshard, I highly doubt you will ever get conservative editor in any paper. Other then Fox network, I doubt a Republican even garners a vote.

Why does anyone even read this liberal nonsense? Pan down to read the name of the author first, see a name like Datko or Peck and you will not have to waste your time reading the rest as you will automatically know it is all rubbish, half-truths and out right big lies.

Or for that matter why does a semi-conservative community support a "news"paper that spouts socialist nonsense? I get more facts on here then I do in the paper even though I admit it is better since they fired Datko

  8. More cheap shots from the peanut gallery.
The way I see it Ms. Datko has a couple of businesses as well as her day job.
She has had the audacity to ask people to exercise their civil rights and ask their elected representatives to (gasp)require health insurance companies to cover preexisting conditions!
Yes Fox news would say it is the end of America.
This forum brings nothing. The contributors would say personal diatribes against any point of view that is not a republican talking point, than do or suggest anything beneficial. Once again, tired, bankrupt ideas are shouted at people who want and ask for progress.
I said some unkind comments in my initial post. I apologize for that, as our level of dialogue should be of a higher level and the use of facilities such as this should be as an exchange of ideas and a search for better solutions to our common problems.
With that being said, I question the use of Corrector throwing out the word "socialism" like it is some type of "gotcha" trump card.
Right here in the Havre area we have socialized public schools (I am a proud graduate, thankyou Mayor Ray Watson for goverment class) We also have socialized emergency services, a library, garbage pickup, water services, a swimming pool,a very nice county park south of town, and I am sure many other perks.
I do not consider any of those things to be an evil communist plot, but I don't watch Fox news.
It would be a much wiser move for the Republicans to listen to Ms. Datko instead of trying to shout her down at all costs. The way I see it she has a couple of side projects going on in addition to her day job.
I think better terms to call her would be "entrepenuer" and a "patriot"
A litle clip from the Hollywood left that might be appropriate http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJd37-rU2qY

  9. DeConstructor, there are some people in our blog circle that are offended by your labeling them as Republicans when in fact they are not. They claim to be “former” democrats that are disgusted by the path taken by the current administration. Hard working common people that are fed up with being at the bottom of the food chain. Decent folk that want what’s best for the country and want every man or woman in America to have a chance at the American dream but not on the backs of those that are working hard and struggling to get by.
Why is it when someone disagrees with the current Democrat policies they are immediately labeled as a “racist” or as a “right-wing crazy” blindly following the likes of Fox News, Limbaugh, or Palin?
I would like to get back to the former blog about the letters and have someone post the answer to the question posed “Who will pay for this Health Care plan”?

  10. you and me and every working stiff will pay for this mess good buddy.

  11. If Health Insurance companies are required to cover pre existing conditions, will car insurance companies be rquired to cover already damaged vehicles? Idiotic. Pre-exisiting conditions should not be covered by insurance. Insurance is insurance, not free health care.

  12. Don't worry about home insurance. You can buy it after the fire starts!

  13. We will all pay for this health care plan with our hard earned wages turned into taxes.

I wish we could educate people to practice better personal health management -like preventive medicine. Yes there are some things that no one has control over, especially in regards to genetic disorders & diseases. But look at our society! What are energy drinks doing to the nervous & digestive system? What about other choices & habits that further jeopardize the well being of one's health? Societal behavior needs the fix; a national health care program funded by the tax payers is not the answer.
