CHALLENGERS DOG-PILING COMMISSIONER ANDERSON

Oh Oh, Commissioner Mikie’s problems seem to be building up steam. Yesterday Havre resident Jim Catt filed as a Democrat for the District 2 Hill County Commissioners seat. From what we can find out about Catt he is a former railroad worker that took a swipe at the railroad lottery for a bad back a number of years ago. In the mean time he has been involved with doing a little concrete contracting, bobcat work, landscaping and other heavy lifting. Mr. Catt has also served a number of years on the Hill County Zoning and Planning board. We wonder if he is going to run his campaign on the courthouse “steps” issue since he considers himself someone with some expertise with concrete work? We sure hope so as this all needs to be hung out in the wash so the voters of Havre can finally see some transparency in the county’s behind the scenes maneuvers.

You may recall that the Corrector broke the story about Havre resident Jeff Lavoi gathering signatures to be able to seek the Commissioners seat as an Independent back on February 3rd. The Corrector has been informed that he has enough signatures and will be on the ballot. Mr. Lavoi will face off with the winner of the Democrat primary between Anderson and Catt.

Let the games begin!

  2. So my choices now are the current comish Anderson or Jim Catt? All I can think to say is BAHAHAHAHAHA! Better hope someone else files as a Dem or I am going for the Independent.

Also this story says Catt filed on Monday? Why is there nothing in the Havre Daily tonight? It would seem that the Corrector beat them to the story again. So to the Havre Daily I also say BAHAHAHAHA! What a joke our paper is when they miss a story that happened on Monday until the Wednesday edition, if then. Good work Corrector.
I think I am going to cancel my Havre newspaper and just go with the Tribune and this blog
    ROFLMAO

  3. Let me think about this for a minute. As it is now we have a choice between; Anderson – a guy that has had 6 years to prove himself and failed, Catt – A BN Lotto winner that is now a construction and county government expert or Lavoi – A guy with proven successful business experience, a get ‘er done record, and who is running as an Independent because he doesn’t think partisan politics has any place in local government.

It only takes a second to make the logical selection between these three – Jeff Lavoi will get my vote

  4. Nice pic of Mike Anderson you have posted here. Is it an official Helmbrecht campaign photo?

  5. It would be nice for whoever wins to cooperate with the city to borrow some snow removal equipment to take some of the ruts out of Havre city streets.

1,2 and 3rd avenues have ruts so deep volkswagons get lost in them.b

  7. Jim Catt has never finished anything in his life including his disabiliy as was stated earlier. He thinks it might be something he might like to try.
Lavoi can't decide which party he wants to try and get to support him.
Anderson is an all day every day commisioner who works the position because it'h his job and not a hobby.
Not even a choice for me. Anderson is the only one with the experience for the position.

  8. Willy I can’t believe you actually think Anderson is an “all day every day commissioner.” You should try talking to some people that work with him in the courthouse before making a false statement like that. He is difficult to work with, is condescending to the lowly staff, and he skips out of the office to go who knows where for extended periods of time. This is not a job for Anderson, but a second retirement income to supplement his City pension from the fire department.

Lavoi is the only one that has a successful business resume. I applaud the fact that he has chosen to run as an independent and is campaigning on the idea of No more politics in county government. I guess if what you have been reading in the paper about all the political bickering that has went on the last 6 years between the county and city pleases you by all means vote for Mike. If you want a commissioner that will put those that pay taxes first over politics you should vote Lavoi

  9. Wily, Willy, Willy.

Are you serious? The only thing Anderson accomplished were the various building contracting messes at the Court House. The only experience he has is in keeping both political parties at each other’s throats so nothing positive ever gets done

Still two weeks left for the Democrats to find a decent candidate

  10. We have Catt looking for another hobby for a couple of years. Lavoi is a genius because he can sell a John Deere in a farming community. WOw. Yep,you guys are a kick.

  11. Maybe the Democrats should run Bill. He seems to get a big kick out of everybody's posts. He is condescending enough.

  12. I agree MzMontana. Bill would fit right in up there at the courthouse with that arrogant uninformed Anderson

    Go for it Bill

  13. I havee a question Willy and Bill. If Anderson is so great why are his fellow democrats at the courthouse overjoyed that there are two people running against him?

  14. I might even consider voting for you Bill but isn't part of the problem the fact that the dems hate the rep and the reps hate the dems? And it appears by your post that you would never say a good word about a rep so you would be no better

I kind of like the sound of independent this time

  15. I have believed for along time that all county and city offices should be independent. We miss a lot of good talent because they aren't with the popular party. The county attorneys office is a disgrace to the justice system that anyone can move here and file as democrat and win and we know nothing about their past. Phillips county has the same problem except the have to file Republican to get elected.
